Ingredients for 6 portions
1 kg. Beef mince.
Lg. Tin baked beans.
Lg. Tin Chopped Tomatoes (Liquidised).
Tomato puree (desert spoon).
Black pepper (Ground).
Oxo cube (make up to half pint stock).
Garlic puree (desert spoon).
Hot or mild chilli powder to taste, try two teaspoons to this volume.
Cayenne pepper to taste, try one teaspoon to this volume.
Paprika to taste, try one teaspoon to this volume
Empty the tin of Tomatoes into a large pan and add the tomato and garlic puree’s, Chilli powder, Cayenne pepper and Paprika, mix it all together; simmer over medium heat to reduce the fluid to a consistency that you desire.
Cut the onion into small cubes and fry until cooked.
If you don’t like bits in your chilli liquidize the tomato and onion together. Of course if you like it bitty leave it alone altogether.
Put all the ingredients back in the pan on a low heat and add the tin of beans to the mixture and leave to simmer on a low heat.
Cut up the Beef mince and add the ground black pepper and put it in the frying pan, cook until all the mince is all cooked through.
Dissolve the Oxo in ½ pint of boiling water and add to the mince leaving until all the fluid has boiled away.
Try the tomato mixture from the pan for hotness, adding more spice if needed.
Add the mince to the mixture and mix it all up well then leave to cook for about half an hour. If you make it the day before you need it, store in the fridge overnight as it always tastes better the next day. But It’s great the same day.
